I just saw this past posting and I thought omg...I have got to reply to this. I
can't believe how ugly and nasty some of these postings are getting. People are
literally verbally attacking one another and it isn't needed. And people
shouldn't be posting about things being no big deal for it is a very big deal
to some people and please stop throwing the 1% chance of someone having
dyplasia or high risk...for I have them!! And I really don't like it thrown in
my face like no one gets it but 1%. For I didn't ask to have this and yes it is
a big deal. Luckly I don't have toworry about giving it to someone else for my
husband and I are still together and so I won't be with anyoneelse. If I wasn't
with my husband I wouldn't sleepwith someone without telling them. You don't
dosomething like that!! Just because it wasn't fair forme to get this doesn't
make it okay for me to give itto someone else so unfairly. I have mild
dysplasia and high risk and low risk hpv. :( So people pleasebe nice!! Please
think about other people in here whoare going through things themselves with
hpv.Thank you, I was diagnosed with mild cervical dysplasia about 11 years ago, when I was 24. Follow-up pap smears showed no abnormalities, so I figured all was well. Then about six months ago I was again diagnosed with the same thing. I underwent another colposcopy and was again told to wait and see. While getting a follow-up pap last week, my Dr. (an internist, not a gyno), noticed some bumps which are kind of hidden, so I hadn't noticed them. She said she can't tell if they're warts or skin tags, and she referred me to a dermatologist to have it looked at. Is it normal to go to a dermatologist to get this diagnosis? I guess I just feel a little uncomfortable having someone who mostly deals with acne and removing moles examining my genital area. Isn't this something a gynocologist could diagnose? Has anyone else been referred to a dermatologist for this? Go back to Genital Warts Treatment page.
Genital warts will grow or multiply or go away can't be foreseen, so if you have them take proper steps to get them resolved.
