I was surfing the net today in search of more information on my HPV and i came
across an article stating that HPV can cause oral cancer. Does anyone know more
info on this? like how rare this is and what main risk factors and symptoms
are? Is there a yearly screening that people who have the agressive types of
HPV, like I do, should have to make sure they don't develop mouth cancer. Its
starting to seem like having HPV is a guarenteed diagnosis that eventually you
will develop some type of cancer...I mean, cervical, head and neck, vaginal,
and even uterin cancer for women and prostate and penile cancers for men seem
to be assosiated with HPV on every Health website I visit. It makes me live in
constant fear and drives my boyfriend up the wall. Does anyone know more on
this topic? Oral sex is a risk. Learn and know your risk. I have talked with many men,
women and children with oral HPV. It is rare but not impossible. Numbers of
oral HPV and oral cancers are on the rise. Does your partner have warts? Has
your partner penis been throughly examined including the acid wash and a
magnification of the penis? Are lesion being treated? Your partners needs to
understand your concerns. His needs should not override your concerns. I just got off the phone with an ex girlfriend....she just told me she contracted HPV from her current b-friend....I'm not sure what HPV is...doesn't it have many strands?? I know when we were together she'd get warts on her hands all the time...I guess I need clarity of what HPV is. She told me she doesn't have the warts associated with HPV on her genital area. What does that mean? Also, she explained, that she has high risk HPV...what the heck is that? Are the warts on her hand as a teenager the same thing as HPV...This is a person I love very much still...I just would like some information...I just was tested for herpes (blood test) and other std's and I'm okay....but I'm very upset.
