Question: This topic is now closed - this is what you said. I don't tell them the risk is high only because that is what I've been told by 2 different doctors, I do let them know that there is still a small risk with using a condom, but I've been told that men do not contract high risk hpv (thats what i have.) as easily as a woman. I've been told that most men that do have it are usually just carriers. I've been intimate with 2 men since I found out, and both knew that I had it, and even though i do not talk to one, the one I am still friends with says he has been to the doctor and claims he does not have it. So I don't know. I'm just going off what I've been told. i don't know if it makes a differance that i have high risk and not the other, I've never had any warts. But I will probably end up getting cervical cancer. but anyways bottom line is I just make sure that they know that i have it and that we use protection. i just go off of what my doctors tell me because it seems that there is so much stuff about this virus and some of it is very contradicting. And i don't know what to believe. I just try to follow my doctors directions and try to trust what they say because thats all I can do. otherwise i would go crazy. I hope that this helps you to understand. And I hope that I'm not making myself out to be someone who doesn't have concern for other people. i just can't make a big deal out of it. Otherwise it will tear me down and I wouldn't beable to move on with my life. i guess everybody finds different ways to cope with it. condoms will protect them. But all the stats I've seen is that condoms are ineffective in protecting against the virus. Do you tell tehm that the chance of them also contracting the virus is high? I just don't see how you can downplay the high risk of contraction..... I'm not trying to negate anything you're saying, just trying to understand Go back to Genital Warts page.
