Hi Megan- I'm glad it went well telling your parents. I also think it was a good idea to let them in so they can support you. It's scary to think that you have hpv at such a young age. I also know that this is a very rampant std. Almost seems there is no way to not get it!!

Anyway, I am 38, married for 12 years and almost 2 mos ago was diagnosed with genital warts although I've never actually had a "wart"! It was diagnosed through a biopsy and sheesh.. it's really changed things for me.... for us...

Hey. I was diagnosed with HPV three months ago, and have decided it is time to tell my parents about it. I just don't know how to start...what do I say? I mean, I know I want to have all the facts with me. I just don't know how to begin the conversation. Any suggestions? I am doing it today, in like 4 hours, so any quick responses are appreciated!

I completely can relate. I've had only one experience meeting someone since I broke up with the boyfriend who gave me this little present. It wasn't good. He wouldn't come near me. Wouldn't touch me. I felt like a leper after I told him. He stuck around for another month -maybe to prove he wasn't a bad person or something. But now I date and I feel like giving up. Lately I'm so depressed about this whole situation. I don't want to be alone for the rest of my life. It seems like everyone has the same question. Have you met anyone since knowing your HPV/wart status???? Is it just me, or are there very few people with positive stories. Sorry, I'm depressed. Sorry to be a downer. I guess like you I want the same reassurance before I sink back into my little black hole.
