Important Facts of Electrolysis (Electrolosis).

Learn about Electrolysis. A Quick guide on Electrolosis

Here is an article briefing electrolysis which you may find interesting and informative:
What is Electrolysis?

Electrolysis is a process of permanent hair removal by inserting hair thin metal probe or needle device into the hair follicle. A fine sterile needle is inserted into the hair follicles and a small amount of electrical energy is discharged which makes a localized damage to the hair growth tissue. By this procedure the regenerative ability of the hair follicle is permanently eliminated which results in no regrowth of hair at the treatment site.

The number of electrolysis treatments to achieve results may vary with each individual. Different factors like the quantity of hair, hair growth cycles, structure of hair, heredity, hormone function, any previous use of hair removal methods, some medications and stress bear an influence on this treatment therapy. It is important to stick with the advised treatment program in order to achieve best results in the shortest time possible.

No concerning pain is involved in the treatment but some sensation is felt. While many clients are able to tolerate electrolysis without requiring any pain relief. Some body parts may give more pain then other because of difference in sensitivity and tolerance capacities. However, pain is taken as a sign that the treatment is working, as intended activity is taking place.

Often immediately after the treatment slight redness or swelling appears which disappears within a few hours. As a result of the treatment white heads or tiny scabs may occur. If they do occur, then do not not pick them off.

Unwanted hair can be safely removed from almost all body areas. Electrolysis treatment is most commonly given to areas which include  eyebrows, bridge of nose, hairline, upper and lower lip, sideburns, chin, cheeks, neck, shoulders, breasts, abdomen, arms and underarms, bikini line, back, chest and legs.

Laser hair removal vs. Electrolosis:

Laser hair removal is considered as a temporary method for hair removal. Moreover, no research has concluded long term safety of the patient's skin and health exposed to laser treatment. But electrolosis is in use for over hundred years.

Waxing/Threading vs. Electrolysis:

Waxing and threading is used to remove visible hair and this procedure is quite painful. This technique of hair removal can result in skin problems like ingrown hair. Waxing or threading is not a permanent hair removal solutions, it needs to be done done frequently.

Some of electrolysis disadvantages include: expensive if used for a big area, can be painful, is tedious, takes up good amount of time for large amounts of hair, if not properly done, it can result in partial or full hair regrowth, irreversible skin damage, spread of infection and some consumers do not respond to treatment.

Majority of people get desired permanent hair removal results over the course of treatment, but some studies have claimed that between 7% and 10% of consumers did not have satisfactory or near desired results.

One thing we would like to caution you of is the use of  battery powered equipments avaliable in the market. Claimed to efficient and easy to use, but performing electrolosis on yourself is very difficult and is not recommended.
